In honor of Police Appreciation Month, a charitable golf outing was held on Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 in which the golf course in its entirety was open to participants for use.  Contributions from the event totaled more than $1,000 and were donated to the Friends of the Mounted Patrol in support of the Mounted Patrol Special Services Unit of the New Castle County Police.  Contributions/Donations were presented to members of County Pride, friends of the Mounted Patrol.

Golfer Adam Kegley stated, “The course was in pretty good condition overall and I had a lot of fun. It was a great time for a great cause.”

Pike Creek Recreational Services LLC, an affiliate of the Onix Group, is a privately owned organization which owns and operates the approximately 180 acres on or about the Pike Creek Golf Course.   While normal day to day operations of the Pike Creek Golf Course were temporarily suspended earlier this year, the facilities are being offered for occasional use to charitable fundraisers and other purposes.
